HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana National Committee (TRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) today stunned all political parties and all political experts by playing a masterstroke. Bani Devi, daughter of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao (PVR6), has been declared the TRS’s party candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections. Both the BJP and the Congress have been hurt by Kessier’s announcement. Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Patiara a “checkmate” in the state. As an established educator in the state, Bani Devi has a special place. He hoped the legislature would be elected by the governor’s quota, but that did not happen. Chandrashekhar Rao today surprised everyone by announcing Bani Devi as the party’s candidate for the Legislative Council elections. TRS7 candidate Devi Prasad came in second and Congress candidate Rabikumar came in third, losing the election. In the by-elections held in Telangana a few months ago in the by-elections for the Dubdaka assembly seat, the BJP candidate lost to the TRS7 candidate, while the BJP morale was very high. The BJP’s Ramchandra Rao, who previously represented Telangana’s three districts of Hyderabad, Rangaredi and Mahabubnagar in three districts, was a lawyer and had a strong presence here. Therefore, once again, TRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao’s masterstroke has miscalculated all the math by nominating him once again. The ruling TRS is in talks to seize the seat this time out of the hands of the BJP. Former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, known as the pride and glory of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, is still revered in all quarters. In that case, it would be impossible for his daughter Bani Devi to go to the polls, regardless of party affiliation.
