Bhubaneswar: Another cyber fraud case has surfaced in the capital. A young woman has lost Rs 1,13,000 in a bank job. The “girl” was, in fact, an undercover detective mounting a sting operation. He has now lodged a complaint with the Khandagiri police station. According to the complaint, the young woman, who lives in the Khandagiri area, was working for a private company. He lost his job a few days later. Suddenly one day, he applied online to see an application for a job as an HD4C Bank accountant. He applied online on November 14. Later, on the 22nd of that month, he received a phone call from a consultancy called Fresher World. The person who called said he had been selected for employment at HDFC Bank again in Bhubaneswar. The young woman sent the money online after saying she had to pay Rs 1,400 for the form. The fraudster then demanded Rs 133,000 from him, asking him to open a service charge, insurance and bank account. The HDFC Bank later sent a fake confirmation letter with the bank logo. After giving the appointment, the fraudster asked the young woman for some more money. At that moment, the young woman became suspicious. So he no longer paid for the job. He has lodged a complaint with the Cuttack Cyber Police and Khandagiri Police Station after learning that he was a victim of fraud.
