Adelaide: Led by senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, the bowlers gave India a crucial lead of 53 runs in the first innings of the Adelaide Test. India forgot their disappointment in the first innings as Ashpreet Bumra (2/52) and Umesh Yadav (3/40) shared four wickets together with Ashwin, one of Ashwin’s most memorable bowling figures on foreign soil (14-35-5-4). However, by missing multiple catches, the Indian player missed out on the opportunity to put himself in complete control of the Test. India lost all their wickets for 181 runs in reply to India’s first innings of 24 runs. India’s second innings is also bad. He lost one wicket for seven runs in the four overs he played. Once again, Prithvi S (7 runs) failed. A total of 15 wickets fell for both teams on the second day. With four wickets in hand, India are leading by 72 runs. Saturday’s third-day game is set to be crucial in the Test. India were bowled out for 233/4 on Friday. Ravichandran Ashwin (15) was dismissed by Pat Cummins in the third ball of the day before adding any runs. In the next over, wicketkeeper-batsman Ruddhiman Saha (7) returned to catch Mitchell behind the wicket of Mitchell Starc. Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Sami were also dismissed in the two overs. As a result, India lost the last four wickets in just 6.1 overs on Friday. In addition, India lost their last four wickets in 18 overs and only 59 runs. India, who were once 14/3 on Thursday night, suffered a setback with Virat Kohli’s misunderstanding run-out and failed to reach a possible 300 runs. For Australia, Mitchell Starc top-scored with 4 wickets, while Pat Cummins took 3 and Jose Hazlewood 4, Nathan Lyon took 1-1.
