Bhubaneswar: The downhill pressure on telecom services has almost subsided. Millions of new customers have been added to the mobile network. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRI), the number of mobile subscribers in the state has increased by 1,4,6 in August this year. Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea added new customers this month, while Airtel and BS7N9L lost their old customers. By the end of August, the total number of mobile subscribers in the state had reached 3.32 crore. Odisha’s tele-density has risen to 4.17 per cent. This means that on average, 4 out of every 100 people in the state have mobile connections. In this case, Odisha is still below the national average of 4.23 per cent. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi have more mobile connections than the population.
