Dubai: Three-time Chennai Super Kings have managed to break the losing streak. Chennai’s fortunes have changed dramatically with the return of Sen Watson to form. In Sunday night’s match, Chennai unilaterally defeated Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets. Sen Watson, who has scored a total of 52 runs from the previous four matches, batted relentlessly on Sunday. But scored 63 * off 53 balls. With an unbeaten first wicket with Fap du Plessis (6 *, 53 balls), he gave the team a big victory before 18 balls. The 181-run first wicket partnership is also the highest for Chennai. Earlier, in 2011, Mike Hussain and Murali Vijay scored 156 against RCB. Punjab devised the first batting tactic to put pressure on Chennai, which had suffered a hat-trick defeat. Punjab opening pair KL Rahul and Mayank Agrawal, who have been performing consistently, once again formed a half-century partnership. This time, however, May (24, 18 balls, 34 fours) did not play a big innings. Piyush Chawla caught him in the hands of Karan and separated the 71-run partnership. Captain K Rahul (43, 52 balls, 4 fours, 1 six) scored a responsible half-century but the team was bowled out for a possible 200 runs as they were out by the time they died. Of course, this was made possible by the explosive batting of Mandeep Singh (29, 18 balls, 2 sixes), Nicholas Puran (33, 18 balls, 1 four, 3 sixes). Sardul Thakur was the top scorer for Chennai with 38 runs, but was bowled out for Rahul and Puran. However, he missed the hat-trick.
