New Delhi: The Khadi and Rural Industries Commission has ordered Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal4 and other e-commerce portals not to place fake khadi products. A legal notice has been sent to at least 1,000 companies using the Khadi India brand to sell the products, the Ministry of Atomic, Small and Medium Enterprises said in a statement.
According to the statement, the e-commerce portal is selling all khadi masks, herbal soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, herbal mehndi, jackets, kurtas and many more through various vendors using the khadi brand. Most of the products sold by AYUSH e-traders have been removed. The firm has confirmed to KVIC that 180 links selling various products sold as khadi products in Baghdad have been removed, the statement added. KVIC issued a legal notice to two firms, Khadi Essential and Khadi Global, last month.
