New Delhi: E-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart are getting more opportunities in the sale of goods. The All India Federation of Indian Traders (CAIT), which has been protesting against the move, has finally announced the launch of its own e-commerce portal. The portal, which is set to open next month, is named BharatImarket. The CAIT will launch the platform in collaboration with the Central Government’s Industrial Promotion and Domestic Trade (DPIIT).Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Start-up India and Invest India, the All India Khauti Product Distribution Federation and the lending agency for small businesses, Abhan Capital, are sponsoring the portal. It will start with the grocery store first. In the coming days, it will compete with Geomart, Amazon, Flipkart, BiggBasket and Grofors. CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal had earlier informed that there was a plan to provide goods to the customers within 2 hours through this portal. “We need to have enough power to impose fines on violators,” said BCC Bharatia, national president of the CAIT, and Mr. Khandelwal, general secretary. As there are about 4 crore retailers in the country, a proper policy is needed to manage it properly. Earlier in May, India had announced a market launch. In addition, its pilot projects were first launched in Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Bengaluru, and later expanded to 40 cities across the country.
