New Delhi: Apple, a world-renowned company, has been fined Rs 436 crore. The fines were imposed on the company based on allegations from 33 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The company has been accused of deliberately slowing down old iPhones to boost sales of new iPhones. In 2016, the company updated the iPhone 6, 7 and SE models in a way that would reduce the speed of the chip and not power the phone’s battery processor. This work was done by Apple in secret. It was a kind of betrayal of the customer. The states have complained that the company had to replace the battery. The company has also been accused of hiding important information.
