New Delhi: Railways has big plans to run passenger trains through private companies. But the plan has come as a shock as the IRCTC has decided to shut down the country’s first domestic train, the Tejas Express. Two Tejas Expresses of the IRCTC were running on the Lucknow-Delhi and Mumbai-Ahmedabad routes. The company has decided to shut down the two trains. The company is forced to make such a decision as there are no passengers. The train was canceled on March 16 before the closure was announced to deal with the corona epidemic. After a long shutdown, it resumed operations on October 14. On the 16th of this month, the IRCTC announced that the two Tejas Expresses would be closed on the 23rd and 24th. The two trains do not carry passengers due to fears of a coronary disease. As the number of passengers increases in the future, the company will decide to run the two trains again. Railways has ambitious plans to run passenger trains through private companies. Tenders were invited for this, which was attended by many companies. Thirteen of them were shortlisted by the railways. Through the project, the railways aims to attract Rs 30,000 crore in private investment.
