The information was provided by Tata Consumer Products, a leading company in the tea industry. According to the company, more than Rs 27,000 crore worth of tea is sold every year across the country. Companies in the established sector are selling Rs 18,000 crore and unorganized companies and local companies are selling the remaining Rs 4,000 crore in tea. In Odisha, the average household consumes 42 grams of tea per month. Various types of tea are sold in the state. But black tea has the highest sales. The sale of various flavors of Green Tea, Herbal Tea, Premium Tea Pouch4 is limited. Health conscious and certain categories of customers are drinking this unique flavor tea. In the Odisha market, Tata Consumer Products has a lion’s share of 7.3 per cent. “Tata T Premium, Tata T Agni, Tata T Ilaichi, Red Label 4, AVT and Evergreen are especially popular with the people of the state,” he said.
