Dusty: Uttara Fundi police today arrested the husband and took him to court in connection with a domestic dispute involving a woman who kicked her pregnant wife in the abdomen. The accused was identified as Basant Kumar Jena, 38, of Madhupur village under Uttarafandi. He has been remanded in custody by the Nimapada Judicial Department as the spring bail was denied in court. The case was registered at the Pipili police station on 58/20. Uttarafandi police arrested Basant today, 10 months after the case was filed. In the spring of 2010, he was married to Rajalakshmi Jena, 33, of Satyakali slum under Sahidnagar police station in Uttarafandi area. In February last year, Basant and Rajalakshmi clashed. Angered by this, Basanta was accused of kicking Rajalakshmi in the abdomen while she was pregnant. As a result, Rajalakshmi became pregnant.
