Kolkata: Elections for the West Bengal Assembly will be held in 2021. However, as the major political parties begin preparations for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is now in power in the state, and its supremo and chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, are on the rise. MLA Shuvendu Adhikari, one of the grassroots leaders of the Trinamool Congress and now the transport minister in Mamata’s cabinet, resigned as a member of the West Bengal Assembly today (Wednesday).
