Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a farmers’ conference at the local mini stadium. Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra was the chief guest. In his address, Dharmendra Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a scheme to make farmers self-sufficient. Programs have been launched to double farmers’ incomes, and steps have been taken to turn agriculture into a business. He also stressed that the new agricultural law would increase farmers’ profits. It includes former minister Kanak Bardhan Singhdeo, former revenue minister Manmohan Samal, state Krishak Morcha president Pradeep Purohit, BJP leader Pinky Pradhan, former Dhenkanal MP Rudra Narayan Pani, Anugul district president Dileshwar Pradhan, former MLA Krishnan Chandra. Many activists were on stage. Many farmers from Dhenkanal and Angul districts attended the event.
