New Delhi: GST has made history in December. For the first time since the introduction of the tax in July 2017, the amount collected in any month has exceeded Rs 1,15,000 crore. In December 2020, the country collected Rs 1,15,18 crore in GS7. Of this, the central GS6 (CGST) amounted to Rs 21,365 crore, while the state GST (SGGST) and Integrated GST (IGST) amounted to Rs 28,406 crore and Rs 5,246 crore, respectively. Of this, revenue collection was Rs 28,050 crore for exports and Rs 456 crore for revenue or cess. From last November to the end of December, a total of 4 lakh GS4TR4 3B returns were filed. In December 2020, Odisha collected Rs 280 crore in GST, which is 20% more than in December 2013. Earlier, in April 2017, the maximum GST of Rs 1,13,6 crore was collected. However, with the filing of returns in March, more GST is usually collected in April, as it is the first month of the financial year. However, despite the lack of this facility in December, the highest GST has been collected this time. After 21 consecutive months, the GST collection has reached its peak. After the epidemic, various joint measures were taken to improve the financial situation. The statewide crackdown on individuals who defraud the government of GST fraud and counterfeit bills has risen sharply. More and more traders have filed taxes. This is the third time since the introduction of GST that the revenue collection has crossed Rs 1.1 lakh crore. This is indicative of the financial recovery as the GST collection has been steadily increasing over the past three months.
