Bhubaneswar: The Chancellor has met the Commissioner of Police in a confrontation between two student groups in Banibihar. Professor Sabita Acharya met the Commissioner of Police and discussed the unrest in Bani Bihar. Meanwhile, unruly students are sitting in front of the chancellor’s office. He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important. The two groups came face to face yesterday when the Banibihar campus was opened. Students protested in front of the Gopbandhu dormitory in protest. Some students were on their way to meet with university officials about the poor quality of food and various facilities at the hostel. Another student group protested, sparking clashes between the two groups.
