Gandhinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate has won two Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat. Party candidates Dineshchamdra Jemalbhai Ananbhadia and Rambhai Harjibhai Mokaria have both won Rajya Sabha seats. But Congress did not field a candidate. The Congress did not have the required number of legislators to field its own candidates. In the 180-member Gujarat Assembly, the Congress has 45 MLAs and the BJP has 111 MLAs. BJP candidates have been elected without elections as the Congress party has not fielded candidates.
