MELBOURNE: Cricket Australia (CA) on Wednesday finalized the much-awaited India-Australia series. Accordingly, the Indian cricket team will arrive in Sydney on November 12, two days after the end of IPL-13, and will remain in custody until November 28. During the defense, however, Indian players will have the full opportunity to practice. The Indian cricket team will play an extra day-and-night practice match in Sydney before playing the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide from December 16, according to the BCCI. Cricket Australia officially announced this on Wednesday after the BCCI’s approval. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series will start at Adelaide’s Day / Night Test. This will be followed by the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (December 28) and the third at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 7. The fourth and final Test will be held on January 15 at the Gaba Stadium in Brisbane. Accepting another claim from the BCCI, ‘CA’ has put a one-week gap between Melbourne’s Boxing Day and Sydney’s New Year’s Test. Both Australia and India have yet to lose a day-night Test. Australia have won four Yak Pink Ball Tests (against New Zealand, South Africa, England and Pakistan) in Adelaide. India, on the other hand, beat neighboring Bangladesh in the only pink ball Test played last year at the historic Eden Gardens. So the Adelaide encounter is expected to be exciting. In a press release issued today, ‘CA’ said the timing of the Indian team’s arrival in Sydney would depend on the approval of the Australian Border Security Force. ‘CA’ has also announced India’s practice schedule. According to the Indian A team, the first match will be played at the Drumone Oval in New South Wales between December 7 and 9. Similarly, the Indian cricket team will play a day-to-day practice match against Australia A from December 11 to 13 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Indian team will also play three ODIs and a Twenty20 match during the limited-overs Ether tour in Sydney, Canberra. The limited-overs, which will be played day and night, will be played in two cities, Sydney and Canberra. The daily series will begin on November 28. The last two matches will be played on December 28 and December 2. The Twenty20 series, on the other hand, starts on December 7 and ends on December 7. The second Twenty20 will be played on December 6. Nick Hawley, the interim chief executive officer of CA, thanked the BCCI for its support and cooperation in setting the schedule. He also gave good news that fans will be allowed in the Boxing Day Test. Discussions are currently underway with the Victoria Provincial Government and the Melbourne Cricket Club on the safety of spectators and players. Hawkley said the Indian team’s tour schedule and matches could be changed at the behest of the Australian government.
