New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked the Center to file additional affidavits in the debt moratorium case. The court said in a statement: This will only benefit individual customers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). There is no mention in the text of the claims made by the Real Estate Association and the power producers. The court has directed the government to submit additional truth texts within a week (by the 12th of this month) based on their judgment. A bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MRP Shah, who heard the case through video conferencing today, said that the areas in which the debt was affected by the Karona epidemic were to be restructured. The committee has already recommended it, but it has not been filed in court. What recommendations were accepted should be made public. The Supreme Court has asked that the report be submitted as soon as possible.
The court said the government’s proposal ignored the demands of many areas. The Kamath Committee said in a report that 27 areas in the country were severely affected by the Karona epidemic. ଋ Loans to all these sectors need to be restructured.
