Bhubaneswar: Renowned Oriya film director, musician and cinematographer Raju Mishra has passed away at his residence in Jatani today. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 72 years old at the time of his death. He was returning home from work this morning when he was resting at home when he was diagnosed with a chest pain and died of a heart attack. Raju Mishra was an all-rounder in Hollywood. He was a director, actor, cinematographer, screenwriter, dialogue writer, storyteller and musician. Although he was known as Raju Mishra in the audience and in the cinema, his real name was Rajgopal Mishra. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 72 years old at the time of his death. Raju Mishra entered the world of cinema after earning a diploma in cinematography from the Pune Film Institute. He first worked as a musician and cinematographer. But then he came to the directing field. His directed films include ‘Jor Yaar Mulak Tar’, ‘Pua Mor Kalathakur’, ‘Chaka Aakhi Sabu Dekhe’, ‘Asuchi Mo Kaliasuna’, ‘Pathar Khasuchi Bada Deulu’, ‘Sagar Ganga’, ‘Rupa Gaan Sunakniya’, ‘ Lakshmi’s Abhisar, ‘Satmichha’, ‘Singhbahini’, ‘Hari Bhai Harena’ and ‘Jeevan Mritya’. In addition, Raju Mishra was the cinematographer of films like Shishar Mishra’s ‘Ae Aam Sansar’ and ‘Jaga Hatere Pogha’ directed by Mohammad Mohsin. As a musician, he has co-authored films such as “Ulka”, “Satmichha” and “Rupa Gaan Sunakniyaan”. He also directed a number of Oriya mega series. Not only that, he was also in charge of filming it.
