Bhubaneswar: Sales of cars and tractors increased in the state in September. Car sales increased by 18.43 percent and tractors by 58.72 percent. Sales of tractors have not declined since the announcement of the lockdown in the country. According to a report released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Associations (FADA) in September this year, 34,183 two-wheelers, four three-wheelers, 1,431 commercial vehicles, 456 cars and 1,729 tractors were sold. Compared to September 2017, two-wheel sales fell 20.83 per cent, three-wheeler 55.13 per cent and commercial vehicles sales 28.75 per cent. Last month, 4,502 two-wheelers, 2,173 three-wheelers, 2,360 commercial vehicles, 4,078 cars and 1,024 tractors were sold. In total, 7,118 vehicles were sold in September this year, down 19.56 per cent from the 56,06 vehicles sold this month last year.
