Dubai: The Chennai Super Kings have suffered their second consecutive defeat in the 8th match of the 13th edition of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Chennai lost by 8 runs to the Delhi Capitals after failing to score a 14-run victory over the batsmen.
Chennai’s two openers, Sen Watson and Murali Vijay, were dismissed for 14 and 10, respectively. Ruturaj Gaekwad then returned to the pavilion with just five runs. Later, Fap Duplessis and Kedar Yadav tried to save the batting situation. But the run was slow. Faf Duplessis (43) and Kedar Yadav (21) left the crease. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni then came to the field to improve the match, but he was dismissed for 15 runs. Chennai were able to score 131 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada of Delhi Capitals took 3 wickets for 28 runs and Enrique Narkia 2 wickets for 21 runs.
