Many other leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulated Manmohan Singh on his birthday and wished him a long life. Notably, Manmohan Singh led the UPA coalition government at the Center from 2009 to 2014. Earlier, Manmohan Singh had played a key role in bringing economic reforms to the country by serving as finance minister in the government of PV Narasimha Rao from 181 to 9. “His sincerity, respect and dedication are a source of inspiration for all of us and we wish him a very happy birthday and a beautiful new year next year,” Rahul Gandhi wrote.
