The US police has arrested a software engineer from China. He has been accused of stealing Google’s AI technology. According to reports, US Attorney General Merrick Garland said the accused engineer was secretly working for two Chinese companies. The accused has been identified as Linve Ding. 4 charges of stealing trade secrets have been brought against him.
He was arrested in Newark, California. He was transferring confidential data from the Google network to his account.
The Attorney General said the Justice Department will not tolerate the theft of AI and other advanced technologies. It threatens the security of the country. The United States will always strive to protect the sensitive technology it develops. Because there is a risk of all these being misused.
In this case, the director of the FBI, Christopher Ray, said that China is involved. Chinese companies are stealing US innovation. There is a threat to the financial and national security of the United States.

Google hired Ding in 2019. He was employed to develop software used in Google’s supercomputing data center.
