Even after receiving crores of rupees worth of gold jewellery, the family was not satisfied with the desire to get more. Yet another woman was burnt to death in a dowry fire. The incident took place in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. The woman got married on April 11, 2025. The family had given her crores of rupees worth of jewellery and a car for the wedding. However, her in-laws did not pay much attention to her. The desire to get more started making her commit crimes. After he tortured the victim in various ways for 2 months, the victim has now lost her life. The deceased has been identified as Ritanya.
According to reports, Ritanya, daughter of textile business owner and former political candidate Annadurai, got married to Kevin Kumar (28) on April 11, 2025 in a grand ceremony. The family spent 2400 grams of gold, a Volvo car worth Rs 70 lakh and Rs 2.5 crore on the wedding party. He also promised to give her an additional 1600 grams of gold after marriage. Ten days after the marriage, Ritanya was tortured for 1600 grams of gold. She was beaten up for petty things and asked to stand up all day long. Her husband Kevin threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the torture. After enduring such torture for 2 months, Ritanya died on Saturday by consuming poison. It was revealed that she had committed suicide in her car while going to a temple. Before dying, she had sent a WhatsApp voice message to her father informing him about the torture being done to her.
After this incident, the police have arrested Ritanya’s in-laws and husband.
