Cuttack / Salepur: An unfortunate incident took place in Machhuati village of Balisahi panchayat in Salepur police station. At around 9pm, the younger brother was seriously injured in the younger brother’s Farsha wound. The elder brother was shifted to Cuttack in critical condition after first aid at Salepur Hospital. He later died in Cuttack late last night. Salepur police have detained the minor and his mother at the Salepur police station for questioning. Notably, Satyaprakash Mallick, 19, the eldest son of Laxman Mallick of Machhuati village, was returning home from the market. At this point, Satyaprakash’s grandfather (a minor son of Shatrughan Mallick of the same village) (19 years old), who was already armed with a machete in the dark area near the local Mangala temple, suddenly hit Satyaprakash in the neck with a machete. He had a chest injury as he moved. As a result, his father, Laxman Mallick, lodged a complaint with the Salepur police station, alleging that he fell unconscious with excessive bleeding. He was later rescued by locals and taken to a group health center. He was rushed to Cuttack General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Later, Satyaprakash died while undergoing treatment late last night.
