New Delhi / Mumbai: For the second time in a row, Australia, the winners of a memorable Test series in Australia, returned home on Thursday. Acting captain Ajinkya Rahane, head coach Ravi Shastri along with star batsman Rohit Sharma, fast bowler Sardul Thakur, Prithviraj’s chief landed at Mumbai airport while Brisbane victory hero Rushab Pant arrived in Delhi. T Natarajan, who went with the team as a net bowler, became the first Indian cricketer to make all three formats (T20, ODIs and Tests) in one tour. After landing in Bengaluru, Natarajan headed to his hometown of Salem in Tamil Nadu. Experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, renowned all-rounder Washington Sundar and bowling coach Bharat Arun will arrive in Chennai on Friday morning while stopping in Dubai. The Indian players, who arrived in Mumbai under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, were welcomed by Mumbai Cricket Association President Vijay Patil, Apex Council members Ajinkya Naik, Amit Dani and Umesh Khanvilka. Rahane also cut a cake to mark India’s victory on the occasion. Notably, the Indian team won the Brisbane Test by an impressive 3 wickets on Tuesday to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the second time in a row on Australian soil.
