A huge quantity of cannabis being transported by truck from Boudh to Maharashtra was seized on Friday. In this incident, the driver of the truck, Ajat Sarfaraz Khan of Maharashtra Nagpur, and his helper, Siddhanath Ram Milan Jadhav, have been arrested. According to information given to reporters by SP Raj Prasad of NY Boudh Adams police station, on Friday morning, information was received that marijuana was being smuggled to Maharashtra by the said truck (MH 40 AK 1062). Police seized the said truck near Sange Sange Boudh Bridge Street. A total of 10 quintals of 25 kg of ganja was recovered from the truck. The confiscated truck and marijuana were brought to the police station.
Similarly, 18 thousand rupees in cash and 2 mobile phones were also seized from the two accused. Both were later arraigned. From Boudh district, cannabis is being caught being smuggled out of the state at various times. The fact that such a large amount of marijuana is transported by trucks has shocked everyone. On the other hand, only the driver and the helper were arrested in this incident, but nothing is known about the driver. It is suspected that the said truck is being escorted by multiple driver’s cars. There is a general demand that the police should investigate and arrest them as well.
